Yesterday I got the oppertunity to spend most of the day with Charlotte. We went to lunch just the two of us and did some shopping. It was awesome and she was so excited to spend some one on one time with just Mom. We talked and laughed and she helped me pick out some clothes for Tuesday and some Valentines decorations. Meanwhile, Jan and Tuesday had a good time at home! She was in quite the dancing mood yesterday!

I always try to blog often, and with great intentions, it never works out that way! So this year I will attempt to blog daily with at least 1 picture and a summary of the day! Super excited! So here was yesterday!

Our dear daughter is a New Years baby, what a wonderful day to begin a new year, a whole year older! She turned 6 yesterday and had such a great day.

We began the day by getting ready to go see Happy Feet 2 at the theatre with her friend Hannah and my friend Amber.

What a sweet movie! She loved it! After the movie we came home to get Daddy and Sissy and go to Toys R Us. Since Charlotte turned 4 we decided to let her pick her own birthday gifts since her day is so close to Christmas, its really hard to buy a gift for her in advance. So she picked some Bizu bracelets, a pillow pets blanket, a tinkerbell in a lantern, a game for her new Leapster 2 and a Xia Xia crab! Super fun stuff!

Then we came home, hubby left to go get some pizza and my friends Amber and BJ came over with their kids Hanna, Desiree, and Kayla to have dinner and cake with us.

Yes that is Justin Bieber on her cake! lol After cake she opened her gifts, she got a JB doll, a Lalaloopsy ferris wheel and a zhuzhu pets movie theatre.

So glad we got to spend her day with some good friends! Happy 6th Birthday Charlotte!

Wow I havent posted since August! Better get back to it!
Been a long few months as we gear up for hubbys deployment. Charlottes been doing well in Kindergarten, Tuesday is starting to talk a lot more and starting to refuse naps! Of course theres been a lot more happening, but I'm prolly just gonna start off fresh later today instead of a big recap!

Sunday after church we were invited to our friend Sarahs to decorate rice krispie treats with the kids! They all had a blast and quite the sugar high for evening service!!!

Just as soon as we said hello to kindergarten, we had to say goodbye to Charlotte's best friend Josh. Last Thursday, they finished clearing their house and headed off to the good Ole state of Washington. They just arrived today and are happy to report that they have housing! As we were sad to see them go, we are thrilled that they get to experience a new post and make new friends. Already we are feeling the loss of them though. Charlotte has missed getting on the bus with him, as she has almost everyday since the first day of Pre-K last year. She has also asked a few times if she can go across the street and play with him. I just don't think its hit her yet. So with processing that and all the other craziness that goes on around here, I haven't had much time to post. But here are some pictures of the kids from the last few days they were here.

Then the next few days we hung out with some other friends. On Saturday we went with my friend Amber and her daughter Hannah to do a few errands. We went to Lifeway and stocked up on some Veggie Tales essentials, and got some PJ's for Tuesday at Once Upon a Child. All 3 kids fell asleep in the car, bless their little hearts!

That has been about it for the last few days, got a few busy one ahead of us, then hopefully next week things calm down some! Hope everyone is having an awesome week! Also hoping I can get back to posting more frequently!

Weekend Recap!

I totally did not take ANY pictures this weekend, but I did steal a few from today and last night from my friends facebook!

Saturday we went to Nashville with our friends who are moving on Thursday. We stopped in at Trader Joes and went to the Mall at Green Hills. Got some essentials at TJ's and just window shopped at the mall. Its all crazy expensive stores like Pottery Barn Kids and Williams Sonoma. Love them, but the army sure doesnt pay us enough to afford them! <3 While we were at the mall I got the pleasure of eating at the Cheesecake Factory for the first time! Oh wow! Their chicken alfredo was so good!!!!

After the mall, we headed to the park with a few other friends.

This was how Tuesday felt about it for the most part! She had a long day and was over it at that point.

This morning we went to church and brought a friend! After church I had a few errands to do then we had some friends over to grill hamburgers and hotdogs! Charlotte loves having all her friends over, so she was having a blast. The boys spent the day mostly like this:

Of course they all had fun. The kids mostly played at the park behind my house, but some like this one were sweet and stayed in the yard to play with Tuesday.Dont mind her crazy hair, she was super cute for church and naturally ripped her hairband out during naptime. So she stayed this way the rest of the day! At some point you gotta just let kids be kids! The adults then had a fire after Tuesday went to bed! We made it an early night though since kids all have school tomorrow! (Amen!)

Tomorrow we will be straightening up the yard, then going to the Commissary and PX. As well as straightening up the laundry room. I might be brave and share the before and after pics here. Maybe... Its ugly, if you didnt know me and only saw that and the master closet, you might sign me up for Hourders!!!!! LOL So kidding.... maybe.

Our Weekend

Tuesday playing outside waiting for Charlotte to get off the bus from her first day on Thursday!Loves her car, climbs in and out of it constantly.Finally!!!! Sissy is home!!!!Charlotte had a wonderful 2 days of school so far! She said her teacher is really nice, and she has brought home art projects both days! Love to see that!

Saturday we went and hung out with my friend Sarah and her kids, Riley who is about to be 3 and Chase who is 1. Both my kids had a blast! We then came home, they had a bath and Tuesday went to bed. Then Charlotte offered to help me straighten up. So we finished that up, put in How to Train Your Dragon, and I gave her a mani/pedi. About halfway through the movie she passed out on the couch!

This morning we had every intention of going to 9:00 church service... until the kids didnt get up until 8:15. She we got ready, hung out and went to 11:00 instead. Although that was a bad plan since Tuesday always naps at 10. She was a monster, but had a good afternoon nap!

So after nap time, it was basically time to eat, then we had a birthday party for Charlotte's friend Steven at 6.

Charlotte had a great time! As well as throughly enjoying the cake!
Tuesday, not so much. She was tired, it was hot and she was just plain over it all!

So after the party, we came home and got them bathed and in bed, until the neighbor came over with a frog he caught, Charlotte had just gone to bed. So I let her come out to check out the frog, he was so tiny, but a crazy hopper!

Now that that fun is over, Charlotte is back in bed, and I am about to straighten up and fold some laundry! Looking forward to Charlottes first full week of school, she is super excited too! Hope you all had a lovely weekend as well!

First Day of Kindergarten!

This is her first year of full-day school... honestly, I'm a little lost without her! We went to the PTO breakfast after she left and checked in on her while we were there. They were watching Dinosaur Train and lo and behold, it was my child making shadow puppets with the projector. Lol! Hoping she had an awesome day and has warmed up some to Mr. Hill!

My Big Kindergarten Girlie!Charlotte had her open house today and was so excited to start Kindergarten! Here she is in her new classroom!

Super excited... until she found out her teacher was MR. Hill and not MRS. Hill. She is super nervous about having a male teacher for some reason, but I think once I'm not there, she will do great! He seems to have a super positive outlook on the way his class will run! Heres to hoping! My child definately needs some good ol fashioned structure, but I'm glad he doesnt run TOO tight of a ship! School starts tomorrow (woohoo)! There is a Boo Hoo/ Woohoo breakfast for kindergarten parents tomorrow and a sign up for the PTO, so thats were I will be at 9 tomorrow! Hope everyone (who starts this week) has a wonderful first week!

Today started off great, got the kids bathed, got a lot done around the house. Then we left to go get some groceries at the commissary. BIG MISTAKE!!!! It is the day after payday, so everyone and their mom was there, and my kids were so very badly behaved. Neither wanted to sit in the cart, Tuesday thought it would be a great idea to stand up in her seat (she was buckled in) while I was paying and proceed to fall into the back of the cart. Gave me a heartattack! So now we are home and Tuesday is napping and Charlotte is playing quietly in her room... Hoping by dinner time I will not be so annoyed with life!

On Saturday we had a birthday party for the handsome Mr. Aydin. He turned 5 last Tuesday. His party was at the Splash Park on post and all the kids had a blast! Here is Mr. Aydin with Charlotte

Sunday I flew to Chicago where my brother in law Chris met me at the airport. We then drove to their house and shortly after, I began my 9 hour drive back to Fort Campbell. Thankfully the girls stayed with my neighbor all day and were GREAT for her! So thankful for the good people we know who love our kids to bits!

Got home and went straight to bed! Busy weekend, but a good one! Charlotte starts school this week! So excited for our kindergarten girl!

Rachel drove us back from Michigan, so naturally she stayed with us for a long weekend!

Heres Charlotte, Tuesday, Rachel and EmilyThe Sunday Rachel left I had the kids dedicated at our home church here at Fort Campbell, Crossroads Christian and Missionary Alliance. It was a nice service and I'm glad I could do it!Next we got some "furry babies"

Tinkerbelland CinderellaFor the 4th of July we went to an on-post carnival (charlotte did not approve) then enjoyed the post wide fireworks in the field by our house with some awesome neighbors!July 5th Fort Campbell hosted a Blake Shelton concert, went with some neighbors and had a great time!My girls watching the kittys togetherCharlotte hosted her first sleepover this month too! She has spent the night many times at her friends house, but we had never had a friend stay here! This was also Kayla's first stay away from home! They both did great! Watched Despicable Me had some popcorn and went to sleep!I got a new haircut! Loving it!!!!We have been LIVING at the splash park after dinner everyday! Tuesday thinks its the greatest thing since sliced bread!Charlotte, Tuesday and myselfWe have moved on from the swing to Charlottes old Dora chair. She is loving it!We finally got around to checking out the Tie-Breaker water park here in Hopkinsville Kentucky. It only cost $8 for me and my girls to get in and we stayed for about 4 hours and had a blast! They have a lazy-river, 2 water slides, a baby pool with a splash park and a regular pool! Both girls had a blast and fell asleep on the drive home!Tinkerbell and Cinderella are getting bigger everyday and the girls just LOVE them!A sweet couple at church just adopted a newborn baby boy who they named Fitu! This is the taggie blanket I made for him!Girlies enjoying popsicles on our front porch on a scorching hot day!Met some friends out by Gate 10 to play and feed some ducks! So that has been our month! Now that I'm mostly caught up, maybe I will post more regularly! Going to a birthday party tonight and tomorrow morning I'm flying to Chicago to get our new van from my sister-in-law! Super excited to have a working car again! Then next Thursday Charlotte starts kindergarten! So excited for her!

Michigan trip June 2011

Left for our trip to Michigan right after Tuesday's party on May 29th. Kids did great in the car!

We had 3 weeks there and enjoyed every day of it. Went to the Eastpointe Memorial Day parade with Rachel, Emily, Amy and Karen. This is Emily and Charlotte waiting for it to start. Swam in a pond with Amy, Jenni, Kendall and Karley. Charlotte and Kendall were inseperable like always. It was fun to watch Tuesday and Karley get to know each other!

Did the Walk for Epilepsy at the Detroit Zoo for Rachel's niece Brianna. Had a blast with some fun people and got to see some awesome animals. This is Emily, Brianna and Charlotte by the fountain

Went out for a girls night for Rachel's Birthday! Had dinner at Shores Inn then went dancing at Pepperbottoms!

Then onto Metro beach with my sister and nephews, Landen and Layn. They played in the sand, we had some fun in the splash park, had a picnic lunch then took a nature walk.

We also got to go to Greenfield Village. The girls were awesome, not one complained about all the walking we did. This is Charlotte, Tuesday, Emily, Karley and Kendall by the river! Funny face time!

My sister and her husband Lance went to the NKOTBSB concert, so I kept her boys overnight, we went to the park got some pizza and watched some movies. So glad I got to spend some good time with them!
Emily had her dance recital for tap while we were there and Rachel was awesome and got me a ticket! What a show! It was awesome, her song was Animal Crackers from Curly Top and she was great!
On Fathers Day we had Tuesday Baptised at St. Marks Lutheran Church in Roseville. Same church Charlotte was baptised in back in April 2006. She did great. This is her godmother Jenni, Charlotte, me, Tuesday, Pastor Oberle and her godfather my cousin Peter.

After her baptism, we loaded up to go visit my sister in law and her family in Chicago. The drive was horrible (about 6 hours) and we were only there 1 full day, but in the end it was worth it. We went to the mall and had lunch at the Rainforest Cafe, then got a few things for Charlotte for school. Then my sister in law treated Charlotte to a Build a Bear. So nice to see them and my sweet nephew Declan, he will be 2 in September and the last we saw him was when he was 6 weeks old! this is Charlotte, my mother in law Karen, Brother in law Chris, Sister in law Julie (holding Declan) and Tuesday!

Came back from Chicago and the next day it was time to head back to Fort Campbell with Rachel! Car ride went well! We were so glad to be home after 3 and a half weeks away!
That was pretty much our whole month of June in a nutshell! <3

Busy Busy Busy

Been super busy lately. Always saying I am going to get back into blogging regularly, and I read a few regularly, but I almost never post anything but pictures!

Charlotte turned 5 in January and is finishing up Pre-K. She is nervous about kindergarten, since she really likes her teacher this year and is sad she will have a new one. She has done pretty well all year though. Making new friends and learning new things. She still loves to play outside and thankfully here at Fort Campbell it gets warm enough to play outside around April!

Tuesday will be one on the 26th of this month and I cant believe its almost here already. She is talking a little (mumma, dada, baba, yes, "dis" this, and "nana" no no) She is also getting pretty mobile. She is crawling and cruising on furniture, but not standing alone or trying to walk yet. She loves to be outside and play with her piano.

We are still doing pretty well here. Hubby will be starting a new school soon and gearing up to leave next year. I've been busy making bows, running never ending errands and getting more involved in our church! Hoping to go home to Michigan somewhere around the first week of June and staying a few weeks. My mother-in-law and cousin came to visit last month and as usual their visits went by quickly. Hoping to see everyone while were home.

So in short that a recap of what weve been up to! Hope everyone is doing well!

We've gotten a lot of snow here in Kentucky in the last week! But we've been having fun with it, went sledding and fed ducks on Monday and were prolly gonna do that again today! Charlotte has really enjoyed it.

What we have not enjoyed is Post cancelling school. She went Monday and Wednesday, but Tuesday and today they called off for snow. Im just so glad shes in Pre-K and not older to where missing all this school would affect her.

And in other news, Miss Tuesday is 37 weeks old! Love her onesie!

Boring week, been staying home

Not too much to report for the week, its been a lazy one. We haven't done a whole lot but lay around and watch some t.v. We did get to go out for dinner with some great friends on Tuesday, but everyone is still getting over being sick. Tuesday sleeping on the way home from dinner.

Charlotte had a good week at school, but has been off lately with a mixture of a cold and an ear infection.

Today we are deep cleaning the bathrooms and hopefully I can do a post on that later. Really hoping for a before and after so I can stay motivated to do all the house not just the bathrooms! lol

Sickness has invaded our house. We have all had sinus infections and Charlotte had a stomach bug. Now that were almost over the sinus infections, she has an ear infection! It never seems to end around here! But regardless, here are a few pictures since my last post!

Charlotte's party was this past Saturday and it went pretty well! She had a lot of guests and got a lot of cool gifts. We also went to an MWR party here on post yesterday for all the January and February birthdays. They got to paint the ceramic of their choice and have some cake and meet the "special guest"! She had a blast, so glad hubby signed her up for it!

Yesterday was Charlotte's 5th birthday and it was wonderful! We got up, let her open family gifts, hung out for a bit then dropped Tuesday off at my friend Andreas. Then Charlotte and I had a "mommy and me" date to go see Tangled. She was awesome during that movie and sat in my lap for about half of it. It was really nice to have time with just her. Doesnt happen very often anymore. Then we picked up sis and came home to get daddy. We went to the PX and let her choose her birthday gift from us. After that we went to Krystal for dinner (her choice) then came home, had cupcakes and put the girls in bed. All in all, a fabulous day for my big kid!

31 weeks old

My chunky monkey at 31 weeks old. Cant believe how quickly time is going by. This time last year we still didnt even know her sex yet and now shes sitting up and rolling over and babbling! Such a sweet girl!

This day 5 years ago I was getting ready to go into the hospital to be induced with Charlotte! That seriously went by too quickly!

Can't believe Tuesday is already 5 months! She is getting so big so fast. Still not rolling over yet, but soon. Shes eating baby food, drinking out of a sippy cup and sleeping great through the night (still)! Couldn't ask for much more, definately different than Charlotte at this age!

Speaking of Charlotte, she will be 5 on Janary 1st! Where has my sweet baby gone?! Shes going to pre-k five days a week and making friends. Crazy how for the first 3 years or so, you are their entire world and at 4 they start realizing there is more to the world. She is a great kid, bright, funny, sassy and sweet!

I am very blessed with my two princesses! They are the best!

Today has been a super productive day so far!
Miss Tuesday slept in her room last night from 9:15 till almost 8:30 this morning!
So I got Charlotte on the bus, started a roast and got the kitchen throughly cleaned all before she even got up! Amazing!

Charlotte just got home and brought home her first school project! So proud!

Just finished feeding the baby rice cereal for the second time, she didnt do so well the other day. Today I mixed it with formula and just put some in her mouth and let her suck on her bottleto wash it down. Definately cheating, but it worked! Hope you're all having a great day so far, gotta get back to my cleaning!

Once again I let my blog slip and havent updated in forever!!!!! Nice to see what my blog friends have been up to lately!

Tuesday is now going on 4 months old and getting so big!!!!

And Miss Charlotte started preschool on the 20th of August and loves it!

This week we are finally having my best friend Rachel, her daughter and her some come to visit! They came around this time last year and we had so much fun.Charlotte, Rachel, Emily and Dylan their last visit!

We are also going back "home" to MI with her next Tuesday! Whats really exciting is that we get to introduce the baby to everyone back home, and my mil and sil that havent seen her since she was less than a week old can see how she has grown! So excited, hoping to post lots of pictures while they are here and while we are home. With 2 kids I'm having a hard time keeping up with my blog, but hang in there! Thanks for reading, it means a lot to me! And now for some pictures of the kids!

Miss Tuesday is now 2 weeks old! What a quick 2 weeks! She weighs 7lbs 7oz and is still sleeping most of the day. We are still exclusively nursing and its going really well! When she is awake she favors mom and doesnt like to be put down when she sleeps... We'll go with it for now but sooner or later she will be in her crib! ha, we will see how long that takes! Hope everyones week is going well, quite uneventful on this end!

Tuesday is 1 week old and doing great! At her doctors appointment she weighed 7 lbs 2.5 oz. Still sleeping most of the day, but sleeping awesome at night! She goes down at 10:30, gets up at 4 and then sleeps again until 7-7:30. Couldnt ask for anything better than that!

Today my mother-in-law and sister-in-law are driving in from Michigan to spend some time with us for about a week! I'm so excited about them coming, hoping it will make today and tomorrow pass faster. Ever since Thursday when we found out we would be induced this Wednesday, the days have been dragging by! I cant wait to meet this baby! Today we gotta get the house in order, sheets washed and all that good stuff. Tomorrow were gonna do something with my mil and sil. Then Wednesday we call the hospital at 5:30 am to see what time to come in. We are planning on meeting my mil and sil for breakfast that morning to drop Charlotte off with them. Here's to hoping all goes well and as planned!

It is official! Unless Little Miss Tuesday decides to come early, we will be induced on her due date, next Wednesday the 26th! I am so excited to meet her!!!

They have been spending a lot of time together lately and have been inseperable.

Here they are at the fair in Hopkinsville last Thursday, this was her first "big girl" ride shes ever been on and would only go if she could ride with Josh.

Here they are on Friday playing inside since it was raining while Cindy, Josh's mom went to get his cake for his party on Saturday.

Finally here they were at his party yesterday. He was playing shy while we sang to him and she was just thrilled to be there!

Hope everyone had a great weekend as well! Only 10 days until Miss Tuesday's due date. Hopefully Thursday I will be able to set up an induction date just in case she decides to be stubborn like her big sister!!!!

Going to the dentist this morning to get Charlotte's teeth cleaned. She is not aware of this yet since last time she was supposed to get two fillings and preceded to scrape the temporary filling the dentist put in, out with her fingernail and hand it back to him! lol She is quite the character. So were going to do that in about 2 hours, then its off to the park to play in the gorgeous weather we are expecting today. Then we will come home and help hubby put our new grill together and play in the backyard some more! Bring on summer, we are LOVING being outside!

Dr Appt and other boring stuff...

Had our 31 week dr appt on Tuesday, everything went well. Also went in for the glucose test yesterday, hoping all went well there too. We should know within the week. Yesterday was glorious outside, 73 degrees! We spent most of it outside in our backyard. We also had Lifegroup yesterday evening, sort of a bible study group. It was awesome (as usual), we were there from 6:30 to 10! Definately got off track, but learned a lot about the others in our group.

Hoping to get a lot done today, we have like 62 days until Tuesday's due date and her room isnt even started!!! Gotta work on that, laundry, switching some of Charlottes clothes, and later when hubby comes home were all going grocery shopping! Too much fun!

Today one of our best friends here on post has left to go back to Indiana. Her husband has been involved in a lot of things that didnt help to strengthen their marriage, and she has moved in with her mom. Charlotte and Miley looked forward to seeing each other and we went to visit at least once a day. They only lived 2 houses down. Today we said goodbye to Miley, Keshia will be back today, she dropped Miley off halfway with her mom so she can get cleaning done. It was bad enough to say goodbye to her, and I'm sure it will be hard to say goodbye to Keshia tomorrow. I know people PCS all the time, but theres no reason for this and I just feel bad for them.

Boring Long Week

My hubby has been working late hours, so we have been getting a lot of stuff done around the house while hes at work! I have officially finished spring cleaning my kitchen, including wiping the inside of the fridge and cupboards! Love it!

In other news, I am almost 25 weeks pregnant! 110 days to go, or 15 weeks! WooHoo! We've started working on her room and so far its been a slow process, being that he hasnt been home much to help. So I'm glad were starting it so early, that way we should for sure have everything done before she gets here!

Charlotte has been super sassy lately, which I am hoping is due to cabin-fever. Hopefully it will start to get warm sooner rather than later so I can get her butt outside!!! All of the snow melted with the rain we had this week so now our yards are just mud! :(

Now obviously its not quite spring yet, but to keep from having to stay indoors when it is, I have decided to spring clean early! Starting today I'm going to tackle 1 room at a time and post the results when I'm done. Might just be the motivation I need to actually get it done! lol Today I think I'm doing both bathrooms, as well as the linen closet. We will see how long it takes to get those done, I'd really like to go through every piece of our home with a fine tooth comb. May be the last time for a long time that I actually have the opportunity with the baby coming in May! Wish me luck, hope you all had a great weekend!

Today is another day with no plans. I would love to go through Charlotte's closet today, but we shall see. As of now I have been up since 6, had a bagel and some coffee and here I am. Hubby is crabby today for some reason unknown to me, Charlotte is still sleeping and I just had the chance to catch up on the blogs I read from yesterday. So far so good I guess, I am sure he will be in a better mood later in the day once work is over. So hopefully I can get Charlotte fed, bathed and working on her workbook before too long. Then maybe later if it isnt raining we will take a walk. Its been raining for 2 days now, so heres to hoping! Enjoy your morning, I look forward to reading about your day later on!

22 weeks Pregnant and other news...

Today we have an OB appointment at 3:20. I cant believe were already at 22 weeks, time has flown by so fast! We are working on getting the house in order after a long weekend, most of which was spent outside! It was 65 last Friday! You wont see that in January in Michigan, thats for sure! lol Heres a few pictures from our trip to the park that day! Hope your weekend went well!

Well what a busy weekend! Charlottes party was on Saturday and went really well. We went to Nashville to do some shopping on Sunday and Monday my mother-in-law went back home. We had a lovely visit with her, but as usual it went by super quick! Yesterday Charlotte had her 4 year physical and some shots. It went well aside from the shots, but of course thats to be expected. We got a lot done yesterday with our errands and today we need to get our house back in order! Its definately showing that we havent been on our regular schedule! (lol) Hope everyones weekends went well!

Yesterday was fantastic. We spent all day home, just us as a family. Charlotte got to spend the day with her new toys and we got to just hang out. Today we are heading out to get some errands done. We need to go get some thank you notes and print pictures to go in them, we need to take back our recycling and we are going to Starbucks a luxury I enjoyed before we moved here and get to enjoy again thanks to a gift card my mil sent! Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday! We only have 6 days until Charlotte turns 4, 11 days until our ultrasound and 13 days until my mil comes for Charlottes party! Busy folks we are these days!

Today is Christmas eve and it feels so weird. Usually were running the holiday triathlon trying to make sure we see everyone and that no one is disappointed, This year we are home and there aren't even any neighbors around. A week from tomorrow is my dear daughters fourth birthday, where does the time go?! I cant believe it, with Christmas always come the bittersweet reality that she is getting older every day. Hoping with this age she will understand the real reason behind Christmas this year. We will be going to church tonight, driving around to see Christmas lights and leaving our cookies and carrots out for Santa and the reindeer. What do you do on Christmas eve?

Today we only have 2 days until Christmas! Charlotte is so excited, we've been getting boxes in the mail all week from family and they have been staring at her! Thankfully she hasn't tried to open any of them. Our cat on the other hand has tried! lol Today was going to be spent grocery shopping and cleaning house. Neither has been done quite yet! :) Hubby is home from work after only being gone an hour and a half, so hopefully he will help me. Tonight we get to carol with our church! Tomorrow we have cookies to make for Santa and of course gifts to put under the tree also church in the evening. I'm hoping it will be a very low-key relaxing day. Right now I have to give a very cranky girl a bath and get her dressed to go out later! Hope all of your preparations are going well!

Yesterday we attended Fort Campbell's annual tree lighting ceremony. We were really excited since it was said that Santa would be there. We were supposed to leave in time to be there by 5 pm but were running late. We got there around 5:15 and it was the perfect time. They had just lit the tree and everyone but maybe 20 of us were looking at that. In the meantime a line had started for Santa. So we hopped in line and only waited about 15 minutes or so. Charlotte was really looking forward to seeing him, and she did awesome. She told him what she wanted and away we went! She got to choose 2 prizes off of a table, she got a puzzle with Disney princesses and a fairy barbie doll. We then went to look at the gorgeous tree and have a cookie. Can't wait until next year when we get to take two little ones!

Preschool!

Today we started working on Charlotte's preschool workbook. Next fall she will be attending a Pre-K program through the elementary school and I want her to be as ready as possible before then. So we started today with coloring the 2 pictures out of a row of 3 that are the same color. She did ok with that, got all of the answers right but got really frustrated that she cant color in the lines. It was frustrating for me too, knowing that an almost 4 year old usually cant color in the lines yet. Then we moved on to tracing circles and the word CIRCLE. She did awesome with that and thankfully squares are tomorrow! I really enjoy working with her and watching her make sense of things on her own. Kids are an amazing thing!

After her work was done for today we played some Candy Land and Chutes and Ladders. Last time we pulled them out, quite a few months ago, it didn't go well. Today she stayed on her spot and played within the rules! I am so proud of my girl! Small victory, but hey, I'll take it!

Tomorrow I must get my floors mopped and clean the kitchen. I have been majorly slacking this week, trying to get over a sinus infection and getting CHRISTmas things together. Hope everyone had a lovely day!

Holidays Spent at Home

This year for our holidays we decided to stay in Kentucky instead of going home to Michigan. We wanted to start our own traditions and enjoy the holidays as a family in case of deployment. As of now it is a great possibility my husband will be deployed by this time next year.

So Thanksgiving we had dinner with our neighbors Shana from Ohio and Jason from Louisiana and their daughter Elizabeth. They deep-fried a turkey and made cheesecake, while we made the sides and pumpkin pie. The day before I got the yams, pistachio salad, and pies made. Then the day of I made green bean casserole, cheesy potatoes, stuffing and rolls.

Everything turned out great! Charlotte really enjoyed the pumpkin pie!

So the day after Thanksgiving we decided to go get our tree and get gifts for Charlotte's cousins to send home. We went to Lowe's for our tree and it is lovely. Since I have lived with my husband all we have had room for was a tabletop tree, so this year we bought a live tree that is about 6 or 7 feet tall! We set it up, let the branches settle and went shopping at the PX for gifts. We got all the cousins gifts bought and wrapped and our cards in the mail! Can't beat that! So now, without further ado, our tree and stockings.

Cant wait until we go shopping for gifts for Charlotte, hopefully in the next week or so! Hope everyone's Thanksgiving was great, cant wait to see your trees and decorations!
